From the popular series on Fox network "House", the main character (...House...) comes up with some gems of wisdom. The people of 'They'' fondly refer to these quotes as 'House-ism's". Now, House can be a bit crude at times so watch at your own tolerance level. 'They" put it together on Youtube (a popular internet site according to a leaflet I got yesterday) and it's about 7 minutes a pop.
I only mention these because it has given me an idea. I am currently at home in not-so-sunny-right-now California and thus I get to visit with my mother. She tends to ramble sometimes and though we have often mentioned that her incessant need to do so is not so neccessary, she continues to do so. So instead of discouraging it, I've decided to encourage it by quoting my mother. She's given me permission in a way (she SAID "You can quote me on that!") and I've decided to do it. So far I've got two,
"He ain't no chess player!" -When I was worried that my mother's dog would eat my crystal chess pieces, this was her response to comfort me.
"Get a boyfriend!"-When I asked her if there was anthing I couldn't quote her on, she said she wouldn't say anything that I couldn't quote her on...and then gave me one that I could. This was the one. hehe
