Christine faire car

So, for those of you who don't know the wonderful language that is French, Christine faire car (which is not even conjugated correctly) literally means Christine to do because. One might think this an irrational sentence; but when your tired and want to say Christine is driving a car it makes more sense.

There are just times as a human being when things come out of your mouth that are well intentioned and do make sense in your mind, but get lost in translation between your brain and your mouth. Then again there are times when it isn't an accident that you mis-spoke. I was with my friends the other day and someone comes in the room with a box of Capri Suns. "Oh! Capri Suns!" my first friend exclaims...then my second friend says, "you mean Cap-re suns."

Ah...Tomato To-ma-toe.

My other personal favorites are the various ways to say Aunt, marvelous, fahitas, quesadilla, etc. (mehbe it's just Americans attempting to speak other languages).

Which leads me to wonder who says what more? I mean, I was planning on putting aunt vs. aunt in googlefight.com but for some reason I don't think pronunciation does well in online written verse. Oh...and if you were wondering...

Sunday Manimals

So this post comes with a little bit of explanation. On Sundays I find myself at Church for a good long while...long enough that I start to doodle. It keeps my mind occupied whilst I listen to the speaker. So I got into the habit of drawing chimera's of two different animals (I ask the person sitting next to me to name two so that I don't just end up with the same animals every time...i.e. MY favorite animals) This idea originally came from a gospel standpoint in my religion. If I had to make up animals, what would they look like? And it also came from one of my favorite cartoons, Avatar: The Last Airbender where I saw my first Platypus Bear, and it inspired me. So, I thought I'd share some of my creatures cause I think they are awesome.Brontosaurus+Parakeet: This, so far, is my favorite one :) Just look how cute it is! Albeit I think i based this creature more off of a cockatiel than a parakeet @_@ oh wells, its still my favorite.
Bear+Chicken: Ok, seriously, how genuine is this thing! I quite adore it...especially since I usually have a lot of trouble drawing bears...well...this is more of a bicken than a bear...but still.
Pig+Gopher:This is a drawing that I don't like. It just didn't come out right XC yes I secretly keep my reject animals off of the internet, sorry guys. But this one got lucky! Even if I think he is ugly, he is punny (see drawing below) :)
Pig+Gofer: IT'S A PIG GOFER!!!! Imagine one of these running around your office bringing you Starbucks! Personally I'd think to myself everyday "How did he pay for my hot chocolate? That's one smart pig."
I also draw people as animals :) I wasn't having too much luck yesterday combining animals, so I resorted to my old habit of asking someone their favorite animal and drawing them as such. It always brings a smile to their face :)
And this is Jest! Do you know how I first got good at drawing? Well I don't remember, but I like to think a part of it was because I drew animals in chibi form and made a comic series about them. I never got very far in that particular series :<>

Enjoy!

Crocheting

When I was first packing for my big move to the college scene, I was still rather ignorant as to what Utah would be like cold-wise. So I packet my crocheting needles and a box of yarn, comforting myself that I could make whatever I put my mind to in order to keep warm during the frigid months that would be known as my first 'winter'. I must confess that one of the few times that I have busted open that box of stringy goodness in the last year was yesterday. I can also happily report that I haven't lost the talent; even though I have lost the callouses on my hand that make it easier to do.

The irony in all of this is that back home I am rather well known for this ability of mine to crochet, particularly the dolls I made...an example of a crocheted doll...

As such, a darling friend of mine sent me a link about crocheting because it reminded her of me. Now I must admit, I've never made a cell phone holder. I have made a nintendo ds holder though...*cough cough* anyways...but for anyone who has seen my phone its hardly necessary for me to have one :( Maybe when I get a new phone in the near future I'll worry about it. I just have to remember I can make whatever I put my mind to ;)

J'ai faim~!

Je voudrais le repas dejeuner parce que c'est le temps de jour quand j'ai faim.

Ah...in the great words of my french class buddy, "I like the lunch meal because it is the time of day when I am hungry" (sorry that's a butchered English sentence but I don't want to translate correctly :p)

When 5 hours of sleep and foreign languages combine you get...well, good quotes for inside jokes.

Tech-savi-ness

Are you a frequent Microsoft Word User? Well, if so, you know how after you've used it awhile and you finally think you know everything there is that you NEED to know to use it for your meager purposes...and then you just can't figure out why it won't tab the way it has been for the first half of your paper no matter what you do? Yeah...that's what I like to label a lack of tech-savi-ness...yes.

So my question now is this...how do I post a copious amount of pictures on this blog thing? @_@ It's something I feel like I should know how to do but don't want to take the effort to find out. Maybe I'll just keep tediously posting one random photo per every blog post...Maybe...peut-être...Ça depend... :) Anyways, the best way to dispel ignorance is to search it out yourself, I just choose not to do so at the moment ;)

Twelve and a Half Foot Pole

tch...well, so begins my adventure into the blogging world. I always imagined getting a blog when I was 40 and bored out of my wits because I was a house-wife and everyone was away from home but me. You know...saving the world...one small post at a time. Anyways...it's a tacky way of writing when you tell people your plans for what your about to write about. An example "Now I am going to tell you about how I've always wanted a cat". As such, I will refrain from telling you my plans for my blog, or anything else of the sort and simply say that we'll see how far this even goes %)
